WAYNE JOHNSON ANNOUNCES BID FOR COUNTY COMMISSION
ALBUQUERQUE: Republican Wayne Johnson today announced his formal entry into the race for District 5 County Commissioner.
“Bernalillo County is a special place to live with a wide variety of cultures and communities. Serving on the Bernalillo County Commission will give me an opportunity to positively impact the lives of those that make this such a great place to live,” said Johnson.
Johnson is a leader in the community and is currently the vice chair of the Bernalillo County Fire & Rescue Citizens Advisory Committee. In addition he has served as the president and vice president of the District 7 Coalition of Neighborhoods and is a member of Mayor-elect Richard Berry’s transition team.
Wayne has the support of many leaders in Bernalillo County, including Sheriff Darren White, who said, “Wayne is exactly the kind of new blood we need in Bernalillo County. He’s active in the community and he’ll be leader when it comes to fighting crime and holding the line on government spending.”
Johnson and his wife Kurstin live in the Northeast Heights. He is a native New Mexican and a graduate of Sandia High School and the University of New Mexico. For the last 15 years, Wayne has operated Vista Media Productions, an award winning marketing and advertising production company.
County Commission District 5 is made up of the East Mountains and parts of the Northeast Heights. Currently, it is represented by Michael Brasher, who is term limited.
